Black History Month Program at the East St. Louis Higher Education Campus
Linda gave an inspirational speech entitled "Desperate to Learn." She highlighted the attributes of many black ancestors who were desperate to get an education.
April 23
Linda participated in a reading flash mob under the St. Louis Arch on April 23rd and was interviewed by FOX 2 News.
May 3
Linda held an inter-generational family reading event at the East St. Louis Community College Center on May 3, called "How Did We Get Here? Our Family's Journey From the South." The event was inspired by Pulitzer Prize-winning author Isabel Wilkerson's book, The Warmth of Other Suns. Photo Gallery

Linda held a Senior Citizens Day Reading Event at the Clyde C. Jordan Senior Citizen Center in East St. Louis, Illinois on Thursday, August 23. She and five volunteers, including the mayor of East St. Louis, Alvin Parks Jr., read books to groups of seniors. The event was well received by the seniors who enjoyed hearing stories about their lives.
